Thor Hushovd Signs On With BMC

Thor Hushovd has been champion of the world road race between Paris and Norway two times.

There should be little wonder then that he has been taken up by an American BMC team to be in their group. He has recently completed the signing of a two year contract as has been announced on the official website of the American BMC team.

Thor has several accolades to his credit besides the road race successes. For instance, he has won the green jersey of Tour de France twice, once in 2005 and another time in 2009. Being 33 years of age now, this definitely showcases the pinnacle of achievements in his professional cycling career. He won in two stages when he was riding on behalf of Garmin-Cervelo and he got to wear the yellow jersey of the leader for seven total days. Hushovd spent most of his career riding on behalf of the Credit Agricole team. The long association was because of the clear strategies that the team deployed as well as motivated him to dream of winning the classic race of the Paris Roubaix.

He states that this team worked in an organized manner and a plan was put together for the important races for the riders. That left everyone with clear directives on what one had to do. For Thor the dream still remains on winning the classic Paris Roubaix race. The BMC team has been supporting him and he hopes that the association will prove to be beneficial for him as well as the team.

The BMC team management on the other hand, feels that Thor has several qualities that will complement those of other rides on the team. This will help improve the performance of the teams on rides like Grand Tours and Spring Classics. Hopefully the new collaboration will work out as well as Thor’s previous one.
